Remembering John Pearl

  • Triangle Garden (intersection of Longview, Smith, and Linda) White Plains, NY 10605 United States (map)

John Pearl, who passed away at age 89 last January, was a mainstay of our Highlands community and our Highlands Civic Association - a founder of the organization, member of the Board, and long-time treasurer.

If you enjoy attending the picnic, Halloween party, city official meetings, walking or driving by the gardens, the fun and informative FB page, etc. you have John to thank for incorporating the WPHCA and being its historian and long-standing treasurer.

To honor John and recognize his importance in building our vibrant community, we will dedicate the "triangle garden" to John. Thanks to the efforts of Margaret Egan - Board Member and Garden Committee Chair - there is now a lovely plaque placed in the garden that recognizes John Pearl.

Please join neighbors and also members of John's family for a short ceremony to celebrate John on Sunday October 27 at 2:30 pm. We will gather at the garden (located at the intersection of Longview, Smith, and Linda). We invite any and all to come and - if you wish - say a few words about John.

Volunteer organizations like the WPHCA can only exist with generous and hard-working people like John involved.
